February 2023 Women's Team of the Month

February is done and dusted in the National Futsal Premier League - across 5 games in the Women's Division, we've seen a handful stand above their peers and competition to join the February Team of the Month.

GOALKEEPER: Mia Quintana

In goal and in her second consecutive team of the month is Grand Rapids OLé shotstopper Mia Quintana. Grand Rapids OLé have made a fortress of their home court, winning twice in February with 14 goals scored and only 2 against. They boast the league's best defense after 5 games with only 15 goals scored, much of it due to the tenacious play from Quintana between the posts.

FIXO: Erin Boulanger

Few players in the league have enjoyed the month of February as Erin Boulanger has for Columbus Futsal Club. In three games she recorded 7 goals and 1 assist, frequently finding herself starting and finishing moves from box to box. Boulanger now sits at 5th in the league for total points and 3rd in goals scored after a busy few weekends representing with the Columbus Futsal Women's side.

ALA: Loren Gormley

Boulanger's partner in crime, Loren Gormley stepped up for Columbus Futsal Club in February. In two games against Futsal Indy, she provided 4 assists and scored 1 goal, collecting 5 total points during the month and launching herself onto the leaderboard where she sits at 5th in assists.

ALA: Emma Johnson

When Futsal Indy needed a lift, more often than not Emma Johnson was there to provide it. Johnson's quick feet, pace, and decisive finishing made an immediate impression in two games against Columbus Futsal Club, where she recorded a total of 3 goals and 3 assists, including an excellent February Goal of the Month contender.

PIVO: Shelly Vargas

Leading the line for the February Queens of the Court is Shelly Vargas of Grand Rapids OLé. Recording 3 goals in 2 games, including a Player of the Week performance in their Matchweek 10 victory at home over Columbus Futsal. Two big goals in that game kept the visitors at bay and provided a foundation for OLé to open up the game further and get the win.

6TH: Kenzie Dollison

A single-game performance from Futsal Factory Academy's ala MacKenzie Dollison is more than enough to make the February team of the month as she grabbed 2 goals and 3 assists in an 18-1 drubbing of Futsal Indy on February 12th. This game was the culmination of a consistent string of positive performances for Dollison as she recorded points for her 4th match in a row.

2 wins from 3 games for Columbus Futsal Club coach Dante Garcia place him at the helm of our February Team of the Month. The Ladies of Columbus FC continue to improve and look better every week, giving Grand Rapids OLé a run for their money on their home court in a tightly-contested game that slipped out of reach late on.

Congratulations to our February 2023 Team of the Month! Best of luck to these Queens of the Court and the rest of the players and managers in the upcoming games this season.
