Matchweek 16 Preview

by NFPL

Matchweek 16 could very well be season-defining for nearly every team playing! All of these matches have huge implications on the playoff picture and fans of the National Futsal Premier League should be glued to the stream on Saturday night to see how it all shakes out!

Detroit Imperial Futsal (H) VS. Futsal Factory Academy (A)

A huge matchup in the Midwest as 3rd-placed Detroit Imperial Futsal host second-placed Futsal Factory Academy in Canton, MI, just a ten-minute drive from FFA's home court.

It's been several months since these teams last met, an early season decisive win for Detroit Imperial at home. However, expect this matchup to be significantly tighter.

Detroit Imperial will be missing a few key players due to red card suspensions in their Matchweek 12 game against Grand Rapids, while Futsal Factory Academy are the league's most in-form club at the moment, winners of their last 4 games.

The winner will likely go to the playoffs! Huge game.

DETROIT IMPERIAL FUTSAL (H) VS. Cadence SFC (A)

It's been another tough season for Cadence SFC, and they'll be summoned back to Detroit to play a game that means nothing to them. After a ridiculous 18-2 beating at the hands of Futsal Factory Academy in Detroit during Matchweek 15, they'll be going up against an equally dangerous opponent in Detroit Imperial Futsal.

The two teams drew 6-6 in Chicago on January 27th, which was the only point Cadence have gathered this season.

Depending on what happens the night before, Detroit Imperial Futsal might be riding a wave of momentum. Could they overlook Cadence? Can Cadence shock the world?

BRUSA FC (H) VS. NEW MEXICO FLAGSHIP FC (A)

Two teams at the bottom of the Southwest are fighting for their season this week... wait, this sounds familiar... Oh! We said the same thing last week, when BRUSA FC went on the road to take on New Mexico Flagship FC

Having dropped that game, you'd think BRUSA FC were done and dusted, but instead they'll have an immediate chance of revenge and redemption as they welcome New Mexico Flaghip FC to Arizona.

Mathematically, the Southwest is still wide open! BRUSA FC can't afford to drop any more points, while another 3 points on the road would be monumental for Flagship.

It's anybody's game!

Santa Fe Gloom (H) VS. Colorado Futsal Academy (A)

A delicious matchup in the Southwest awaits as 1st-placed Colorado Futsal Academy take on 2nd-place Santa Fe Gloom in Santa Fe.

Colorado still have the game in hand, but lost their last match whereas Santa Fe Gloom won their prior match. Santa Fe Gloom's NFPL debut was an 8-4 win in Santa Fe over Colorado back in mid-December. However, Colorado demolished them 10-3 in the return fixture on January 20th in Denver.

With both teams sitting on 12 points, sole possession of first place in the Southwest hangs in the balance!
