2022/23 Matchweek 13 Preview
Futsal Factory Academy (H) vs. Ginga FS (A)
Matchweek 13 opens up with Ginga FS on the road at Futsal Factory Academy. These two Great Lakes Conference teams sit at the bottom of the conference, and for Ginga FS unfortunately the season has come to a close with their Matchweek 12 loss at Grand Rapids.
The Matchweek 12 draw between Columbus and Grand Rapids OLé benefitted Futsal Factory. Still, they'll have to win all 3 of their remaining games, which include this home game against Ginga FS, an instant rematch in Matchweek 14 in Cincinnati against Ginga FS, and then a challenging road trip to Westwood Fieldhouse against Columbus Futsal to close out the season.
It would be a miraculous recovery for a team that has endured an up-and-down season. Can they do it? It starts with a win at home in Matchweek 13.
Futsal Indy (H) vs. Cadence SFC (A)
A Midwest Conference matchup in Matchweek 13 features two bottom-of-the-conference teams in Futsal Indy and Cadence SFC. This game will likely be Futsal Indy's best shot at a win this season, a home game against another team that has struggled to pick up points.
A win would do Cadence good and put them back in the conversation for the playoffs, although Joy are more likely to be the second team in the Midwest Conference playoffs.
Joy Athletic (H) VS. Columbus Futsal (A)
Matchweek 13 provides a big cross-conference matchup with Columbus Futsal heading to Minnesota to take on Joy Athletic. Although non-conference matchups don't have implications in the playoff cut, Columbus Futsal will be able to use this game as a measuring stick against one of the top teams in the conference in what will be a challenging road atmosphere.
Joy Athletic are fresh off a big Matchwek 12 victory over league-leaders FC Tryzub, while Columbus Futsal also enjoyed a good showing against tabletopping Grand Rapids OLé.
New Mexico Flagship FC (H) vs. Brusa FC (A)
The last meeting between these two featured some excellent goals and an exciting match that Brusa FC won 11-6 on February 11th. NMFS currently sit on a 2-game win streak, and Brusa are on a 3-game win streak. A win for NMFS would bring them to within 1 point of the top of the conference, whereas a road victory for Brusa FC would likely seal a first place finish.
