NFPL Welcomes Los Yunaites Club to the Southwest Division for the 2025/26 Season

The National Futsal Premier League is proud to announce that Los Yunaites Club will be joining the Southwest Division for the upcoming 2025/26 season.

Founded in 2020 as a soccer team, Los Yunaites made their first foray into futsal in 2021 when Brusa FC introduced them to the sport. That same year, they entered their first futsal tournament—and haven’t looked back since.

Based in Mesa, Arizona (in the greater Phoenix area), Los Yunaites have built a strong reputation in the region and beyond. They’ve competed against top teams from Arizona, California, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and other major futsal hubs across the United States.

Over the past several years, they’ve been a fixture in notable tournaments and leagues, including:

  • Brusa FC Local League (2022)
  • 4v4 on Concrete Local League (since 2023)
  • Brusa FC Tournaments (since 2021)
  • Annual Elite Cup NM (since 2021)
  • US Futsal Nationals in Las Vegas (2023)
  • Flagship Cup (2023, 2024)
  • Flagship Academy Cup (2025)

This summer marks the next step in their journey: competing in the NFPL.

The team’s identity is as distinctive as its play style. Their logo—a cartoon cactus in soccer gear and a sombrero—celebrates their Arizona roots while bringing a playful, culturally relevant energy to the court. The name “Los Yunaites” is a colloquial Spanish pronunciation of “The United States,” reflecting the team’s personality and community connection.

For team owner Angel Benigno, this move is the culmination of years of effort:

“Joining the NFPL is a dream realized through years of dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering passion. It’s a testament to the pursuit of excellence and the thrill of competition on the grandest stage of futsal.”

We’re thrilled to welcome Los Yunaites to the NFPL and can’t wait to see them bring their energy, skill, and passion to the Southwest Division this season.
