Russell’s four-goal performance powers FFA past Capital Futsal

Futsal Factory Academy’s Cole Russell delivered a sensational performance in Matchweek 11, scoring four goals to lead FFA to a 9–6 victory over Capital Futsal and earn Midwest Player of the Week honors.

The matchup was expected to be one of the closest tests of the season for the undefeated division leaders, and Capital Futsal proved early on they were ready to compete. But when FFA needed a spark, Russell stepped up in a major way.

Russell first found the scoresheet from the penalty spot after drawing a foul, calmly converting to help FFA take control of the match. Moments later, he doubled his tally with a powerful left-footed finish into the side netting on the counterattack, giving Futsal Factory Academy a two-goal cushion.

The second half belonged entirely to Russell. Showing excellent awareness, he took a quick midcourt free kick that started a rapid attacking move before finishing the play himself with a first-time strike to complete his hat trick. Not long after, he produced the goal of the night — a brilliant solo effort that saw him carry the ball forward from deep in his own half, beat multiple defenders, and slot a composed finish into the far corner.

Russell’s four-goal performance proved decisive in a game that remained competitive deep into the second half, helping FFA maintain their perfect record and further strengthen their grip on the Midwest Division.

With the win, Futsal Factory Academy continues to set the pace in the Midwest, and Russell’s standout night was a reminder of the attacking firepower that has made them one of the most dangerous teams in the league this season.
