March 2026 Southwest Team of the Month

Southwest Team of the Month – March: Santa Fe Gloom Lead The Way
March in the Southwest Division was chaotic, high-scoring, and ultimately defined by one team rising above the rest.
Santa Fe Gloom navigated a difficult stretch of fixtures unbeaten, securing wins over both Los Yunaites and BRUSA while grinding out a draw on the road. In a month where no team escaped unscathed except them, Santa Fe Gloom set the standard — and as a result, they form the backbone of this Team of the Month.
Alongside them, standout individual performances from New Mexico Flagship Futsal Academy and Los Yunaites round out a group defined by impact in decisive moments.
Goalkeeper
Jean Carlos Caro (Los Yunaites)
In a month filled with goals, Jean Carlos Caro stood out for his ability to keep his side competitive in difficult moments.
His Player of the Week performance in Matchweek 12 came in a 6–6 draw against Santa Fe Gloom — a match that could have easily slipped away without his interventions. In a division where defensive stability was hard to come by, Caro provided exactly that when it mattered most.
Fixo
Bryan Rivas (Santa Fe Gloom)
No player defined March in the Southwest more than Bryan Rivas.
Across three matches, he delivered consistently elite production, including a four-goal, two-assist performance in the 11–8 win over Los Yunaites, followed by another decisive showing against BRUSA and continued impact in the return fixture.
Two Player of the Week awards only reinforce what was already clear on the court — Rivas was the driving force behind Santa Fe Gloom’s unbeaten run.
Ala
Presci Ruiz (Santa Fe Gloom)
If Rivas set the tempo, Presci Ruiz provided the finishing touch.
His four-goal performance in the 11–8 victory over Los Yunaites was one of the most explosive attacking displays of the month, turning a chaotic game into a statement win. When Santa Fe Gloom needed clinical execution, Ruiz delivered.
Ala
Beckan Ovalles (Los Yunaites)
On the other side of that same high-scoring matchup, Beckan Ovalles proved just as dangerous.
With four goals and an assist in one meeting and two more goals in the return fixture, he was the focal point of Los Yunaites’ attack throughout March. Even in difficult results, Ovalles consistently found ways to influence the game.
Pivo
Luis Loera (New Mexico Flagship)
March’s most dominant single-game performance belongs to Luis Loera.
His four-goal outing in New Mexico Flagship Futsal Academy’s 9–0 win over BRUSA set the tone for one of the most emphatic results of the season. Clinical, efficient, and relentless, Loera ensured there was no way back for the opposition.
6th Man
Jesus Guillen (New Mexico Flagship)
While Loera finished chances, Jesus Guillen controlled the flow of that same match.
With a goal and two assists, he delivered a complete performance that helped NMFS capitalize fully on their dominance. His ability to influence multiple phases of play makes him a perfect inclusion as this month’s sixth man.
🧠 Manager of the Month
Patrick Schmittdiel (Santa Fe Gloom)
Patrick Schmittdiel’s Santa Fe Gloom were the only team to navigate March without defeat, finishing with a 2–0–1 record that included a statement win over BRUSA.
In a division where momentum swung wildly from game to game, his side combined attacking firepower with resilience, finding ways to win high-scoring battles and stay composed in tight moments.
That consistency — more than anything — is what set them apart.
Final Word
March in the Southwest wasn’t about perfection — it was about survival, adaptability, and stepping up in the biggest moments.
Santa Fe Gloom did all three.
Behind them, standout performances from NMFS and Los Yunaites ensured this was one of the most competitive and entertaining divisions in the league, setting the stage for what promises to be a thrilling finish to the season.
