April 2023 Men's Team of the Month
The National Futsal Premier League came to a close at the end of April and as the regular season transitioned into a brilliant set of playoff matches, we had a number of players that stepped up and stood out.
April 2023 KINGS OF THE COURT
GOALKEEPER: Bojan Pejovic
An incredible performance in the playoffs, and particularly the Championship game, earns Bojan Pejovic the starting goalkeeper spot in our April team of the month. The FC Tryzub shotstopper held Grand Rapids OLé at bay with a handful of jaw-dropping saves throughout the game, earning Player of the Week and Man of the Match honors in the Championship.
FIXO: Jorge castellanos
Three games in April gave Jorge Castellanos numerous chances to shine and he took them with aplomb, scoring 5 goals and assisting 5 more. His 3-goal performance for Colorado Futsal Academy against New Mexico Flagship FC at home earned him Player of the Week honors in Matchweek 16.
ALA: Taras Kobliuk
Taras Kobliuk scored 7 goals throughout the regular season for FC Tryzub and then burst into the playoffs by scoring another 7 to give him a total of 9 goals and 1 assist in the month of April. If his teammate in between the posts had not earned Man of the Match honors in the Championship win against Grand Rapids OLé, it would have likely gone to Kobliuk who put 4 goals past Golden Glove winner Miguel Cervantes in the net for OLé.
ALA: MARLON AREVEDO
Voted Man of the Match in the San Diego Voyager's lone game in April, Marlon Arevedo scored 2 goals and assisted 1 in their road loss against Colorado Futsal Academy.
PIVO: Vinícius Galvão
3 big goals and a Man of the Match performance from Vinícius Galvão against Futsal Factory Academy earns the Columbus Futsal pivo a spot on the April team of the month.
ALA: MARLON AREVEDO
Voted Man of the Match in the San Diego Voyager's lone game in April, Marlon Arevedo scored 2 goals and assisted 1 in their road loss against Colorado Futsal Academy.
6TH: GABE VILLAGOMEZ
A huge end to the season for the young star of this Grand Rapids OLé squad, Gabe Villagomez scored 6 goals and assisted 1 in 3 games, including 2 in the Championship loss to FC Tryzub. His goal output in the playoffs alone matched his season-long output in 7 fewer matches.
MANAGER: Denis Reveachin
Player-manager Denis Reveachin led FC Tryzub to the best regular season record in the NFPL, drawing once in April's regular season matchup vs Grand Rapids OLé, but then leading them to victory when it mattered most in the NFPL playoffs by dispatching Joy Athletic and Grand Rapids OLé en route to lifting the trophy.
