January 2024 GOAL OF THE MONTH NOMINEES
A competitive grouping of goals from six different teams this month, along with a few familiar faces from December's Goal of the Month competition among the nominees.
1. OMAR LAHBIKI VS. Cadence SFC
A great throw from the goalkeeper is brought down brilliantly by Omar Lahbiki, and his second touch isn't too bad either, nutmegging the Cadence SFC goalkeeper to extend the lead for Detroit Imperial Futsal en route to a big road win.
2. Gabe Villagomez vs. Cadence SFC
Gabe Villagomez recorded 7 goals this game, and this was the best of the lot on a night where everything he touched turned to gold for Grand Rapids OLé. His first touch away from pressure, the quick give-and-go, and then leaving the Cadence defense in ruins before slotting into the corner are all sublime.
3. Francis Guzman vs. New Mexico Flagship FC
From front to back in just a few seconds, Francis Guzman deletes his defender not once but twice before burying an unstoppable finish into the far corner to open up an advantage for Santa Fe Gloom on the road against New Mexico Flagship FC.
4. Gui Ramos vs. Grand Rapids OLé
A 3-on-2 break for Grand Rapids OLé spins out of control as Robert Damron makes a massive save in the net for Futsal Factory Academy and the ball is headed the other direction, ending with quick feet and a clean finish from Gui Ramos to take the lead late in the game.
5. Alejandro Garcia VS. Santa Fe Gloom
From baseline to back of the net in three touches! Alejandro Garcia backs his defender down and removes him from the equation with his first touch, followed by an untouchable strike into the bottom corner for New Mexico Flagship FC.
6. Edrick Padilla VS. Grand Rapids OLé
A massive 5-goal game from Edrick Padilla was only overshadowed by Villagomez's 7-goal haul, but the quality of this goal can't be denied as he slides past Villagomez and takes on the rest of the Grand Rapids OLé defense and finishes with authority for Cadence SFC.
